am I legally allowed to have a second job?
Hi,
I just landed in Dublin for a full time job working for an IT company 8 hours a day. Today I have found another part-time job 20 hours a week in a restaurant.
I am legally allowed in Ireland to have 2 jobs? I know i will pay a lot of taxes but this is not a problem
Thank you !NewInDublin 05-Jan-2019Add comment -
Should I work here for ever? ANXIETY ADVICE??
Hope someone reads this … I’ve been a production operator for two years now. I don’t see myself growing in this company and don’t get me wrong I like working in this kind of environment but I need a bigger challenge. And now you are all probably thinking: Maybe go to another company where I can assume more responsibilities? I know, the thing is that I’m terrified of leaving my job. I’m afraid to change and I get really bad anxiety. But at the same time I get anxiety by thinking I’ll be working here forever…. Any advice?

Wow.. I’m so sorry you are in this situation. If I were you I’d first look for a job and in the interview ask for chances to grow you career. Once you find it if you are still on the fence talk to your actual boss and tell him/hem that you love being here but you need to grow, you’ve been working in the same place for 2 years and you want new challenges. Also make sure to mention that if that is not possible you have a job offer waiting for you. Just be honest and nice. Who knows! Maybe they give you more responsibilities or maybe you love even more your new job in the other company!29-Aug-2017

Hello , I also suffer from anxiety and I know how hard is to feel you need to change something even though you don’t like change. But if you do nothing you are letting anxiety win. I really like Erika's advice. Try to move on and find something else where they assure you career growth (or maybe a higher position) and once you get the job if you are still on the fence talk to you current boss and let them know why this is happening. This way you can only win because either way you’ll get a better job !!31-Aug-2017

Morning everyone, yeah agreed with previous comments but again isn't easy decision essentially when over 40 became more stressful and scared to make a change, but important things believing your capacity and confidence or be positive any situation, spirit of victory doesn't matter you young age or over 40 y.0. I believe u can get a change for goodand move on for where u will feel v. Happy even for same money you get from previous both.
I remember, was working at Mango shop in Belfast town and closed down and I was looking for new job in 2007, no English speaking 100% at time, I went local jobcentre I saw optical Laboratory technician job open, and I applied and I had no experience that time and I went interview positively, she/ consultant asked if give me job if I can learned I said I can try and I started learned, became one of best glazer at cutting edge machines and blocking area I completed 10 years with same boss/company 10/2017, but if I decide to make new change I will not be afraid also I had plenty experience in packing and industrial operator machines, retails important good attitude band and positive spirit of win new job and learning anything quicker.
sorry I wrote a lots, 15/01/2018 thanks everyone, take care, Nuguelo.15-Jan-2018
